To Stick on My Fridge

Ever ask yourself, "What's for Lunch?" And then do you just wander the kitchen and open the fridge and cupboards over and over?

I go crazy when it comes to lunch time. For some reason I can never think of anything to make. Instead, I snack on something small and forget to finish eating lunch and then I get super hungry again around 3:00. I'm hoping this visual lunch menu will not only help me with ideas of what to eat for lunch, but it will also help me when I'm making a grocery list so I remember to buy lunch foods. Feel free to print it out yourself and stick it on your fridge.

Chevron and Minky combo blankie

I love this turquoise zig zag fabric I found online after lot's of searching! I added some super soft yellow minky fabric to make a baby blanket for my little sisters baby coming in October. They are waiting to find out the gender. I thought these colors could go either way ;) I also made some curtains for Alexa's room with the zig zag fabric. (pictures to come in the future... possibly)

A is for Alexa

I made an alphabet book for Alexa for Christmas. I put in her relatives and as many 'churchy' words as I could. I also made books for her little cousins. It was a lot of fun! I used Blurb.com to make it.

dress

I made this dress today for Alexa to possibly wear at my sisters wedding this Saturday. It's two pieces. I just kinda made it up. I may add sash... I still need to take care of the wrinkles.

beaded lamp

Alexa needed a cute lamp in her room. I threw this together because I love the beaded look and these colored ones are fun.

Pillows

These are just basic pillows I made. Nothing fancy. I love the houndstooth pattern.

Behind-the-Door Book Shelves

I was going to make these rain gutter bookshelves I posted earlier. But, it turns out the end caps are more expensive than the actual gutter part. So, when my family came to visit a couple weeks ago, my wonderful dad and brother helped me make these cute shelves. They were just different pieces of molding from Home Depot. The piece that the books sit on have a little ridge which keeps the books from sliding off. We just self-cut them with the saws they have in the store, nailed them together, and painted them. Simple! And a great way to use the dead space behind the door.

More Ideas:
PERFECT!!!! We have so many kids books (and grown-up books) that I'm afraid the house will explode and all the words will be let loose into the atmosphere!!! This is a great way to use a space that is normally ignored - behind a door - $4 ikea spice rack book shelves - behind the door...I love that it's making use of wasted space

ruffle scarf

Vera ruffled scarf $35.
$32 scarf from Anthropology. Very cute!

These are two I made for less than $5 each. No, I didn't show my face :) I'm not a model! Mine are made from a knit fabric unlike the Anthropology one. But a very similar look. I made mine from a tutorial on Hope Studios. Hope studios shows several ways to wear the scarf. These can be made in about 10 minutes.

ruffle bib and burp rag

These were a lot of fun to make. I somewhat followed the tutorials from Homemade by Jill. I used flannel which worked very well and did not use batting. There are a ton of cute flannel fabrics so I need to get to Joann's again!

leg warmers

I made some leg warmers for Alexa several months ago. Leg warmers are great because it takes a lot longer to grow out of them. Alexa still wears hers five months later. I made mine from the tutorial at Everything Your Mama Made.

Another cute (and easy) style are ones with ruffles at the bottom, which can be found at Calico.

i've been experimenting making baby bows... it's fun! I really love this little pink one, especially since alexa finally has enough hair to hold a bow!
